The Occasional Saler

Most of the sales for the month have taken place already, but there are just a few to close out the month and start June off so I want to mention them in a special post as well as add them to the May Monthly Sales page.

Two are familiar: E’s Emporium and Junket Tossed & Found which are both open Friday, May 31 – Sunday, June 2. You may also know Artsy Diggs which has shabby chic furniture, vintage home decor, cabin and kitchen wares and will be open May 30 – June 2 at 48th and Grand Ave. S.

Joining these south Minneapolis shops is a NEW Occasional Shop opening May 30 in the Kingfield neighborhood at 42nd & Grand. Drum roll please! YOUR LUCKY DAY! will open for business on Thursday,
May 30 and be open 10:00 to 7:00 through Sat. and 10-6 Sunday. It will feature rescued and reimagined treasures. Check out the sneak peek photos.

E’s Emporium at 3911 Minnehaha Avenue South in Minneapolis will be open May 17-19 with curated vintage finds such as these pieces. Hours are Fri-Sat 12-7 and Sun 12-5. Saturday includes a Pop Cycle pop up shop with lots of bicycle accessories.

The Mother’s Day Market at Dunn Bros. in Eden Prairie is in full swing until 4 today and from 9 – 3 on Sunday. Great gifts for your mom or yourself including herbs and flowering plants, furniture, trinkets, pillows and jewelry. There are lovely original bracelets created as part of the healing process by a cancer survivor who donates a bracelet to a patient for each one sold. This photo shows a few of the pretty vintage pieces this morning.

Another special market today is a pop-up store featuring six vendors next door to The Urban Cottage. Check it out at 52nd and Bloomington in South Minneapolis.

Vintage, botanicals, furniture, home decor, jewelry, gifts & more at the Smith-Douglas-More Homestead (Dunn Bros. Coffee), 8107 Eden Prairie Rd., Eden Prairie. 952-934-0145 Hours are Sat 9 am – 4 pm and Sun 9 am – 3 pm.

Pansies and real green grass will make your day at the Urban Cottage at 52nd and Bloomington Avenue South in Minneapolis. The photo above is just a glimpse of what you’ll find: cool lamps, tables, jewelry, and accessories are waiting to add a springtime feel to your living space. A warm welcome and treats add to a wonderful shopping experience.

While you’re in South Minneapolis, also note that The Cottage House at 43rd and Chicago has opened their new space next door! After many months of remodeling and adding a powder room, Ted and Company have created a wonderful addition to the “Cottage” with bigger, brighter rooms next door. I saw many SOLD signs on big pieces when I was there, but there will be new finds to greet you this weekend.

Fact or rumor? You decide. I’m just saying….why not give it a try? Plenty of sales to visit this weekend. I only visited a couple…so far.

At Junket: Tossed and Found, I was warmly greeted by owner Julie who is passionate about recycling old stuff and finding a new home for used pieces. Her store is a combination flea market and houseware history museum.

A visit to A Gathering of Friends allows you not only a great antiquing experience, but a casual lunch and a chance to buy your first outdoor planter of the season brimming with pansies!

The Crowned Cottage treats you to a sophisticated milieu with a homey feel. (See photo above).

The Crowned Cottage is rich with old world treasures as well as bright throw pillows for spring. The fab tote bags are abundant, but for a real look of spring, what could be better than a glorious floral wreath?! Mine is radiating spring sunshine on my front door despite the current weather!
