There’s a huge array of antiques waiting for you at this year’s spring market at Bachman’s including china, kitchen ware, garden pots and statuary, signs, linens, screens, luggage, toys, books, paintings, and all types of furniture. Many local dealers have gathered a wonderful selection for home, garden and cabin that you can check out INSIDE the greenhouse. Hours are Thurs-Fri 9-8, Sat 9-6, Sun 10-3 at Bachman’s Flagship Store at 6010 Lyndale Ave S., Minneapolis (just north of Crosstown Hwy 62). Free admission and free parking. Color Therapy at Your Lucky Day!

Color Your World is this month’s theme at Your Lucky Day at 4159 Grand Ave. S. in Minneapolis. And you will see lots of colorful items. The bright, cheery atmosphere spiked with spring flowers is a great antidote to the dirty snowbanks outdoors. As usual, the shop is beautifully curated. Open Thurs – Sun 9 – 6. More info at yourluckyday.biz or Facebook.com/yourluckyday P.S. First-time shoppers should know that coffee, tea, soups and treats are on offer next door at Royal Grounds Coffee.

How Often Are Occasional Sales? How Many in Chaska?
This is a question we hear a lot. Our rule of thumb has been to only consider a shop an Occasional Sale if it is open five or fewer days per month. We try to limit our Listings, and especially our Posts, to shops which meet that criteria. BUT sometimes a shop starts out being open only one weekend per month and then starts adding days here and there. We have been a little bit flexible with shops like that. A case in point is Shop 501 in Chaska. They started out one weekend a month in Carver, but then moved to Chaska a year ago today to become Shop 501 and shortly after added more days for their business to be open. Now they are open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. To honor their first year in business as Shop 501 at 501 N. Chestnut St. in Chaska, here are some photos.

Hours are 10 – 5. 612-991-0625
Linda’s Cellar is another good reason to visit Chaska tomorrow. It is a true occasional sale which is open Sat 10 – 4 at 110 E. 2nd St. on the street by Dunn Bros. Besides the touches of spring and classic vintage finds, you may find focaccia and cake to sample. 612-987-9898

Saling South
It’s a good weekend for heading to the south and southwest suburbs for a little vintage therapy.

Laurie’s Trunk has moved sales to the third week of the month so I headed to Bloomington first. The incredible king bed with tall, dramatic posts was the centerpiece of this month’s sale, but there were plenty of tables, chests, chairs, and loveseats for those who like an elegant, European feel at reasonable prices. Need I remind you that items pictured may have sold since my visit? But these photos should give you a feel for the type of furniture and accessories you may find at Laurie’s. Hours are Th-Sat 10-5 and Sun 12-4 at 9066 Lyndale Ave S, Bloomington. 612-558-2886
From there I headed south on Cedar Ave/Hwy 77 to Haupt Antiek Market at 7570 W. 147th St in Apple Valley (just a block west of Cedar Ave). There are many vendors selling their wares so it’s harder to describe the eclectic mix of vintage pieces which includes cabin decor, rustic, signs, and repurposed items, but with a more antique feel like something from Grandma’s house. (i.e. nothing painted turquoise). Hours Fri 9-7, Sat 9-5, and Sun 11-4. 651-329-3871
Check This Month’s Sales for more stores. Happy saling!
