The trunk pictured is just one of the repainted pieces of furniture – and it has been repurposed as a wall cabinet! The South Minneapolis shops all opened today to help you get a start on the weekend. The Cottage House is plum full of holiday decorations plus lots of red furniture and accessories. Amour Sophie is more neutral with whites, grays, and subtle hues in their refinished tables and chests. Urban Cottage sparkles with sophisticated items for entertaining and decor. All have fantastic small gifts including candles, jewelry, scarves, nuts and granola. And vintage ornaments. And gift wrap. And…. happy saling!

The shops of Carver and Chaska are having their sales the first weekend of December to coincide with the city wide Hometown Holiday celebration in Chaska on Saturday. Free activities include horse drawn wagon rides, a tree lighting ceremony, carolers and more. Linda’s Cellar is one of the participating merchants with refreshments and holiday decor plus antiques, vintage finds, and “good ‘ole junk.” For fewer activities but more vintage, head down the road to Carver where all six occasional shops will be showcasing furniture, gifts, artwork of all kinds, silver, glassware, pillows, blankets, frames, old windows, wreaths, and holiday decorations.
