How Quaint is closing after this weekend. Sad but true. The good news for shoppers, collectors, and vintage lovers is that almost everything is marked down. The goods are arranged by categories rather than staged in vignettes. You will find glassware, framed art and photos, kitchen goods, holiday decorations, fabric/linens/bedspreads/pillows, shoes/hats, jewelry, occasional furniture, patio/garden furniture/accessories, tools, musical instruments, books, light fixtures/lamps/chandeliers, fine antiques, quirky stuff, and an old Studebaker!
All this and more awaits at 714 First Ave. East (Hwy. 101) in downtown Shakopee. The hours are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 10 to 2. The discounts are 20% Thursday, 30% Friday, 50% Saturday and a whopping 75% on Sunday. Happy saling!

Laurie and her monthly array of treasures will certainly be missed by all who love classy, elegant home furnishings with European style. What a Day for Hamel’s Vintage Market!

The Vintage Market in Hamel is even bigger and better this year. There are more vendors, more food, and more nearly perfect weather. You’ll find rusty junk, shabby chic furniture, signs, art, clothes, bags, lamps, tables, chairs, pillows, artisan made hooks and storage, potted plants, woven baskets, pottery, toys, and more. There are two food trucks, a bakery tent, and a lemonade stand. And live music. The event is hosted by Chloe’s Attic which is full to the brim with antiques, painted furniture and repurposed creations. The market continues until 5 today at 155 Hamel Road.

While you’re in Hamel, stop in at the new home of Twisted Root at 95 Hamel Road, a short block east of Chloe’s. Twisted Root vendors just moved from their small space to a cute teal house across the street – you can’t miss it. You’ll find painted furniture, signs, baby clothes and other handcrafted items plus their favorite chalk paint for sale. Twisted Root is also open today until 5 pm. Happy saling!

St. Paul’s occasional shops are open this weekend and invite you into their cool (yes, air conditioned) and interesting spaces. Belle Junque is the calm, serene shop with both painted and original wood vintage tables, dressers, and chairs. Colors lean toward cream or gray. Most of the accent decor has a French country feel. Located at 474 Cleveland, Belle Junque is open Friday and Saturday 10 to 5 and Sunday noon to 4. The Middle Sister and Urban Moon at 1048 Selby have a good selection of hutches, tables, children’s furniture, and dishes. For summer they have cleverly repurposed plates into birdbaths and a silver tray into a small table. They also feature jewelry and handmade fabric purses plus lots more. They are also open Friday and Saturday from 10 to 5 and on Sunday they are open from noon to 5. Happy saling!

Urban Cottage is known for its charming, often elegant, treasures. You’ll find plenty of those this weekend including chests, dressers, small tables, mirrors, ornate sconces, barware and glasses, jewelry and more. You’ll also see many cleverly repurposed tools and hardware like the two clocks pictured, lamps fashioned from pipes, and the vehicle grill complete with headlights! If you like furniture, dishes, and accessories from the 60s, 70s and 80s, you should definitely visit E’s. If you like all of the above, you’ll be in heaven at E’s.
