Looking for a vintage shopping destination this weekend? A Rare Bird is a favorite shop among several wonderful shops selling antiques and vintage goods at 50th and Xerxes in southwest Minneapolis. The emphasis is on French carved and gilded furniture, mirrors and chandeliers, but there is a wealth of other styles including rustic, industrial, mid-century, and garden pieces. You’ll find a wide array of original paintings and intricate handmade ornaments. It’s lovely day for a drive in the country and wandering around the small historic towns of Carver County. The shops of Carver were filled with wonderful fall accents plus furniture, clever signs, pillows, art, rusty stuff and handcrafted goods. Today you’ll discover a bus-turned-shop called Wanderlust Vintage Caravan offering English antiques as well as all your favorite bricks and mortar shops. All shops are open until 4 today and most (Farm Girl Junk, Studio H, Carver Junk Co., Good Junk Garage) are open 11 to 3 or 4 on Sunday. In Chaska, Linda’s Cellar has lots of Halloween decor along with dishes, storage, tables, chairs, signs and more and is open similar hours. Happy saling!
