So <strong>I decided to re-design them. Here&#8217;s how you can do the same project yourself.<\/strong> \u00a0 <strong>Step 1: Gather supplies.<\/strong>\u00a0I needed work gloves, sandpaper, protective eyewear, primer (especially important because the starting surfaces were so dark), and spray paint.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_122\" aria-labelledby=\"figcaption_attachment_122\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 490px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/theoccasionalsaler.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/pic31.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-122\" title=\"pic3\" src=\"http:\/\/theoccasionalsaler.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/pic31.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theoccasionalsaler.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/pic31.jpg 480w, https:\/\/theoccasionalsaler.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/pic31-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"figcaption_attachment_122\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">supplies<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Oh, and don&#8217;t forget to set your work space. I used two collapsable saw horses (easier to store away!) and a simple wood board as my bench. So, I headed down to the industrial basement sink. Because the candlestick holders are wood, I didn&#8217;t soak them in the water, but simply splashed water on, and rubbed them with liquid soap.
