Two Stores are New in October

The number of occasional stores in the Twin Cities increased this month with two new ventures. Both are operated by women with past retail experience. Spicy and Sweet Boutique in St. Louis Park is a new venture by Csilla Grauzer, formerly of Old World Antiques. The new store, which held its grand opening at the beginning of the month, will be open again this weekend, but for just one weekend in November. This month’s selections include vintage home decor with a European accent, hand-made gift items, bold vintage jewelry, artisan chocolates, and an interesting assortment of gifts. Hours are Thu-Sat 10-6, Sun 10-4 at 6532 W Lake St.

Annie Minette, the second new store, is opening in Chaska this weekend in an historic building at 500 N. Chestnut making that small town/suburb an even better vintage shopping destination. Owner Dianne Nelson showcases handcrafted florals, decorative pillows, holiday decor and gifts along with some vintage furniture and repurposed housewares. Weekend hours are Wed-Sat 10-5. [Please note that if you are driving south from Hwy 212 on Hwy 41/Chestnut St., you must go a block beyond the store, turn left and go around the block to park by the side door as Chestnut St has a center median and no parking.]

During the holiday shopping season, several stores regularly mentioned in our posts and the Monthly Sales listing may have “extra” shopping days. We hope the store owners will keep us posted so we can in turn let you shoppers know. Please feel free to share any news or finds with us too.
Happy sailing!
