Looking for mid century (or newer) vintage pieces? Then head to Minnehaha Avenue South in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis. First stop is E’s Emporium with furniture, fixtures, dishes, glassware, and lots of macrame. Not far away is Turquoise Vintage where the “queen of Pyrex” can furnish a whole kitchen with bowls and baking dishes. There are chairs – including this iconic butterfly design and a beautifully restored Danish modern with vintage nubby blue fabric.
Closer to Lake Street is Plum Crabby Vintage with a mix of periods and styles. There are globes, mirrors, decorative pieces and a great collection of Italian trays and chests. Gold and brass are well represented.
Besides these occasional shops which are open the first and third weekends (Friday-Sunday) every month, other vintage shops can be found making for a great shopping experience.
Happy saling!
